Stop! Before you eat that ask yourself, did Ariana Grande lick it?

Ariana Grande, You can kiss my…. *ss…errr… doughnuts

Her denouncement of America and Americans riled up fans, would-be fans, and people who never heard her music or of her until this incident.

In an effort to control the potential damage to her career she issued a statement to apologize. It was her apology that bothered me. It sealed my opinion, spoiled, too full of herself, lacking any humility or class whatsoever, and impossibly arrogant.

She began okay by saying she was proud to be an American and that she loved America.

Okay, Ariana, that was okay and now just shut up, but she didn’t shut up. She went on to step onto a soapbox to rant a little about America’s childhood obesity problem and how she was an advocate for healthy eating.

Until that moment I never cared or gave a thought about Ariana’s eating habits. Then she made a public statement proclaiming her advocacy for healthy eating. I certainly didn’t know she stood for healthy eating. In fact I wonder how healthfully she really does eat. Maybe she limits her calories and stays away from fatty, sugary processed foods, but guess what? That isn’t necessarily healthy eating.

I don’t care enough to investigate but I wonder if she is really getting enough calories from nutrient-rich calories. I further wonder how many of her calories come from alcohol. I’m not suggesting that there are rumors or reports that she has an alcohol problem, but it’s not uncommon for young men and women in the entertainment industry to enjoy their alcohol.

I could rant about how the overweight Americans are giving her the means by which to hire chefs to cook her meals perfectly proportioned to maintain her figure. Buying the best ingredients to make delicious meals isn’t a challenge for her. She’s not the one planning the meals, searching through the recipes, and most importantly purchasing the food in the supermarkets. She doesn’t have to juggle all the other responsibilities of working, and managing a household, and feeding a family.

I’m not jealous – not in the least. I normally don’t make remarks that sound as though I think celebrities lead charmed lives. I would not want to live under the microscope under which celebrities live. I would not like my bikini-clad rear-end on the cover of the Enquirer magazine with the headline “The worst and the best beach bodies” knowing that the cover shot is indeed mine and it’s among the “worst.”

I’m bothered – a lot – by her obvious prejudice about overweight people. (The very people who have supported this ungrateful, little, self-absorbed singer’s career and elevated her status and income to a level few Americans will ever attain.)

Her apology displays that she doesn’t care about healthy eating or she wouldn’t be licking doughnuts. She shares an ugly and sadly not uncommon opinion that “people get fat because they’re gluttons who can’t control themselves and they stuff themselves with nothing but sugary, fatty high-calorie foods.”???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

“As an advocate for healthy eating, food is very important to me and I sometimes get upset by how freely we as Americans eat and consume things without giving any thought to the consequences that it has on our health and society as a whole,” she said. “The fact that the United States has one of the highest child obesity rates in the world frustrates me.  We need to do more to educate ourselves and our children about the dangers of overeating and the poison that we put into our bodies.  We need to demand more from our food industry.”

Well, thank you Miss Grande! You singlehandedly just created a new diet that could be extremely effective. It’s called Stop! Ariana Grande just licked that!

Here is how it works.

Ariana Grande wants YOU to educate yourself and stop putting poison into your body. Doughnuts and the like aren’t poisonous, but they do supply too many calories and too few nutrients. Eating them occasionally is okay; eating them to excess could put your weight and possibly your health in jeopardy.

Eat all you want of these foods:

  • Fresh produce
  • Whole grains
  • Lean protein
  • Nuts
  • Low faf/fat free dairy
  • Go real easy on cake, doughnuts, ice cream, candy, fatty fried foods, processed meals and snacks that come in boxes and bags. If you think it’s impossible to reduce or avoid those foods, here comes the Ariana Grande diet twist…..Screen Shot 2015-07-11 at 6.06.24 AM

Before you take a bite, just consider this: ARIANA GRANDE MAY HAVE LICKED IT!!!!!!
