Household chores burn calories. The more things you do around the house, the more calories you’ll burn. Another bonus is the more chores you do, the less time you will be sitting. Sitting too much is bad for your weight and your health.
When we burn more calories we can eat a little more and that helps keep hunger away and boosts overall satisfaction with the food we eat. In other words, successful weight control is a mix of moderate calories restriction and increased calorie burning.

Be aware that when you cook your own meals you burn more calories (26 calories in 15 minutes or 102 per hour) and you also know what you’re eating. Knowing what you’re eating helps you to avoid eating hidden (and therefore uncounted) calories. Plus, you have dishes to clean when you’re done eating – more calories get burned!
