3 Sneaky (and a little weird) Weight Loss Strategies That Really Work!

You probably have read or heard all the standard weight loss strategies. They all are practical, healthy ways to eat less and to move more. Nobody can argue they’re not good approaches, but you might argue they’re easier said than done.

Sometimes it helps to tackle the whole eat less/move more problem not head on, but with sneaky (and a little weird) strategies! In fact, after many unsuccessful attempts at weight loss, success has finally been achieved when the standard approach is swapped for sneaky and weird strategies.

Here are 3 sneaky (and a little weird) ways to lose weight that really work.

1. Throw away all your elastic waistbands and wear your jeans just a little too tight.
????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

If your pants are just a little too tight you’re less likely to eat too much at mealtime. The discomfort can’t be ignored.

Snug waistbands are a reliable way to recognize that you have had enough to eat. If your internal monitor doesn’t tell you when to stop, your external monitor will remind you with just enough discomfort so that you can’t ignore it. Make it a unbreakable rule that you are not allowed to unbutton your jeans to accommodate a big meal.

2. Eat cake for breakfast.
Cake for breakfast may help you stick to your weight loss plan all day long without feelings of deprivation.

This works for me! Literally, this really does work for me. It’s been my reliable way to eat what I love. It’s my tried, tested and true way to avoid binges and lapses, and it just so happens to be my favorite breakfast food. This works for me because it’s easier to work the cake calories into my day first thing in the morning. Then the remainder of my calories are spent on foods that are more nutritious and less energy dense. I found that if I start the day feeling supremely satisfied I have more power to avoid temptation the rest of the day. I was employing this strategy long before it became endorsed by Dr. Daniela Jakubowicz, of Tel Aviv University in Israel.

3. Have Yourself a ball.
A stability ball is a great seat for sedentary activities such as working at a desk or watching TV. During the commercials you may even be inspired to use it for some exercises.

Get on the ball. If you have a desk job that keeps you sitting all day, get rid of your chair and use a stability ball instead. It’s the sneaky way to strengthen your core and lower back muscles, improve your posture, and even burn a few extra calories during your workday. It works at home for watching TV too. Leave the couch or recliner for somebody else. The best seat in the house for you to view your favorite TV programs Is the ball.
