If you think that you love to eat too much and that it’s standing in your way of losing weight, think again!
There are 3 things that you’ll need to do to eat and lose:
#1 Find fruits and vegetables that you love to eat and eat a lot of them.
#3 Replace sedentary behaviors with fun, active behaviors.
Perhaps, #3 is the most important consideration If you love to eat and want to lose weight.
A sedentary lifestyle just doesn’t burn enough calories to sustain a healthy weight. You would have to reduce your eating until you create a calorie deficit so that you can lose weight. This just might present an insurmountable challenge.
If you spend most of the day sitting and your leisure time activities and forms of entertainment are also enjoyed sitting, it’s quite likely you live a sedentary lifestyle. If you sit for work and play and have somebody clean your house and care for your yard you definitely live a sedentary lifestyle.
If you want to know for sure get a pedometer and count your steps for a week. If you average fewer than 2300 a day, that indeed, is a sedentary lifestyle.
It would explain your tendency to gain weight. If you’ve been trying to lose weight by reducing your calories and just can’t stick with such a calorie-restricted diet, it’s not because you’re weak or lacking discipline or willpower. You’re fighting nature!
A major reason why weight loss efforts fail for so many people is because their approach is analogous to trying to stop waves from coming to shore.
Waves can’t be stopped, but we can learn how to surf.
And surfing is a lot more fun than trying to stop waves from coming to shore! In other words, reducing calorie intake sufficiently to make up for burning too few calories in a day is not sustainable.
Burning more calories to allow for the intake of more calories, however, can be done and it’s easier than you might have thought!
It’s not that hard, for example, to take 10,000 steps a day and in doing so, you don’t have to be rigid with your calorie monitoring. You can take more of a relaxed approach to monitoring what you’re eating so that weight control becomes a habit rather than a tiresome and sometimes unsatisfying chore.
You have many choices for how to get more active. The more you enjoy the activities, the more active you become.
It’s a great way to have fun while you burn calories. Burning calories is how you get to eat and lose weight. Find ways to move that you love so much you want to move.
For lasting weight control, think EAT and MOVE!
