5 Things You Should Never Eat

Here is my list of 5 foods you should never eat regardless of your weight-related goal.

Lose/Gain/or Stay the Same these foods are just plain not good for your belly and your general health!

1. Never eat slimy food unless it’s meant to be slimy.

Okra is slimy, raw oysters and clams served on the half shell are slimy (and some food safety experts say they aren’t safe to eat raw, ever). Passion fruit and persimmons are slimy. They’re not even good to eat until they’re slimy! If the food is supposed to be slimy you can eat it.

Don't eat food that's slimy unless it's supposed to be slimy like these raw oysters. Some food safety experts say "never eat raw oysters" because they carry bacteria and have even been thought to be associated with nasty outbreaks of the notorious norovirus!

2. Never eat food that smells bad unless it’s supposed to smell bad.

Ripe cheese such as Limburger and Liederkranz cheese really stink! Fresh fish isn’t supposed to smell bad, but some of the oilier fish such as mackerel smell bad from the moment it comes out of the sea. Some people think onions and garlic stink. Meat and poultry should never smell bad. If it does, don’t eat it. Some fruits and vegetables start to smell bad when they’re rotting. If they smell bad, don’t eat them.

If you have to do this to eat the food, don't eat it!

If one whiff of the food causes this involuntary action, don’t eat it!

3. Never eat food with fur growing on it unless it’s supposed to have fur.

Peaches are furry and they’re fine to eat. The artichoke heart is also furry and although you don’t want to eat the fur, the hearts are delicious – eat them! When the fur is growing on your meat, cheese, bread, or on top of a food you have stored in a tupperware container inside your fridge for longer than you can remember, don’t eat it.

These peaches are an exception to the "don't eat food with fur growing on it. They are furry perfection! Eat up!

4. Never eat food that is black, unless it’s supposed to be black.

Black jelly beans are okay, if you like them. (I don’t!) Other black foods are considered the new super foods with more antioxidants and health-promoting properties than any other fruit or vegetable source! Blackberries, black rice, black beans, black lentils, black soybeans, and black tea are all very good for you. Food that used to be a different color and has been sitting in your fridge long enough to turn black should never be eaten!

An over ripe banana will have quite a few black spots but it's great for making banana bread. When bananas get black inside and out, never eat them!

5. Never eat moldy food. Mold is not supposed to be on food.

Some foods may be safe to be eaten if the moldy area is cut off first. Some food safety experts argue that cutting off mold doesn’t make it safe because moldy foods may also have invisible bacteria growing that could make you sick.

Toss the moldy food. Some safety experts say it's okay to cut off the moldy areas and eat what's left of foods such as hard cheeses. Others say, "toss the moldy food. You can't see what else may be growing on it that will make you sick."

So there are the 5 Foods you should never eat whether you want to lose weight, gain weight or maintain your current weight.

Aside from these 5 foods, feel free to eat any other food you enjoy as part of your successful weight loss diet.

To reach and maintain a healthy weight and to reduce your belly fat worry less about what not to eat and put your attention on what’s better to eat.

1.Vegetables, fresh, frozen or canned without added sugars or fats

2. Lean Protein (poultry, meat, fish, eggs, legumes, low-fat/fat-free dairy)

3. Fruit, preferably fresh or frozen with no added sugars.

4. Whole grains

5. Healthy fats, monounsaturated fats from plant sources (olive oil, nuts, avocados)

These beans are supposed to be black and they are an excellent source of protein, fiber, and antioxidants that help to protect you against cell damage! They're one of the "black super foods" that you can feel good about eating a lot and often!

Give yourself the freedom to eat enough to feel satisfied plus leave yourself some room for a few fatty, sugary treats occasionally by increasing your physical activity.
