Boost Your Success with Free and Very Personal Training!

The equation for healthy weight is simple – Eat Less + Move More = Healthy Weight. The equation is simple. The application of the equation is far more complicated, especially for those of us whose normal, default behavior is to “eat more and move less!” That’s when a very personal trainer can make a big difference. “I” have two very personal trainers. Their names are “Me” and “Myself”. I rely on “Me” so that I stay on track with my eating and “Myself” is responsible for my achieving physical activity goals.

Here is a typical day with my trainers.

I: I only had two slices of pizza, plus they were puny! I’m still hungry. I need at least one more slice.

ME: Those are large pieces of pizza and they’re loaded with pepperoni. If you’re really still hungry have more salad. If you wait a few minutes you’ll probably recognize that your stomach is full. You eat so fast your brain doesn’t have time to catch up to recognize the full signal from your belly! Why don’t you put your fork down, take a sip of water and see if your belly and brain agree? You will probably feel full after a minute!

I: Okay, but I don’t think it’s going to make a difference. (one minute later) Wow, I am full! I’m just right full! I’m not in pain full, just full enough to be completely satisfied. Thank Me for the good advice! Now, I’m going to go watch some TV!

MYSELF: Not so fast! Now is a good time for a walk! You haven’t even reached the non-sedentary threshold of 2300 steps today. You’re way short of your 10,000 daily step target.

I: I know, but Teen Mom 2 is on. Jenelle and Barbara get into a big fight! I can’t miss that. Besides, I’m kind of tired. How about we get up extra early tomorrow morning to make up for the steps I didn’t take today?

MYSELF: You’re joking, right? You say you’re too tired to walk now but you’ll get up at 4:30 to do it? That won’t work and you know it. Besides, Jenelle and her mother fight on every episode and MTV plays the epsiodes over and over. You’ll get to see it multiple times. Now come on, let’s walk while it’s still kind of warm and still light.

I: Well, there’s that mean dog. What if he’s loose? And I think I have indigestion from the pizza.

My dog is happy about my very personal trainers too. When I move more he gets more walks and he loves that!

Myself: That dog is never loose and walking won’t hurt you if you have indigestion. It might even make you feel better, plus I think you’re just making excuses. I haven’t even heard you burp and maybe you shouldn’t eat so much pizza at one time anyway.

I: I can tell you’re not going to give me a break. Okay, let’s go for that walk!

MYSELF: Nope! You don’t really want a break. You want to be happy when you stand on the scale and you want to stay in that size pants you’re wearing right now! Let’s jog part of the time. You’ll burn more calories in the hour than if you walked the whole time.

I: Wait a minute? Are you saying I’ll burn more calories by running three miles than walking the same distance?

MYSELF: No, I’m saying that walking or running three miles burns the same calories but if you run, you’ll burn more calories in the same amount of time because you’ll cover more distance, or in other words, take more steps.

I: Okay, I get it, but I’m working harder to run. It doesn’t seem fair that running or walking the same distance burns the same calories!

MYSELF: Running increases your heart rate and the intensity level of your exercise and that makes you more fit. It promotes better health.

I: Okay, but I’ll probably be hungry again from all of this exercise. I’m going to want some ice cream when we get back – a big bowl of it!

MYSELF: Okay, but you might have to get that approved by Me!

I managed to finish the walk/jog with a grand total of 8500 steps which put me over my 10,000 goal. As for the ice cream, when I got back I was so proud of myself for beating my goal I didn’t want to undo any of the good I just did by eating ice cream. Maybe I’ll eat ice cream another day when I’ve planned for it. For now I’m just happy that I have two very personal trainers who care that I reach my weight-related goals!

The best thing about very personal trainers is you decide your goals and they are always there with you to help you achieve them. They won’t cost you a cent and they care about you more than anybody else cares about you. They’ll never leave your side. Why not find and use your own “very personal trainers” to achieve and maintain your weight and fitness goals!
